Emotional Resilience: The Key to Facing Modern Challenges

alvin shaking fist

All humans have a capacity for growth and change

Both for the better and for the worse. But this capacity is key to facing modern challenges. Sometimes it is the result of individual personality characteristics. And other times it is the result of interactions with friends, societies, colleagues. It can also be via electronic communications.

The growth can be intellectual, emotional or physical. With growth, an individual gains strength, and extra capacity to deal with problems. This can assist to find solutions and to deal with the unexpected.

Expand our horizons

Through life and learning, individuals expand their horizons and thus their resilience. One of the best sources for this is the extensive range of worldly philosophies which have been developed over centuries. Many of which The Protectorate will be presenting.

Resilience comes not only from the good times but also from the hard times. Humans thrive on challenges. The size of the challenge depends on the type of individual one is, fearful, bold, timid, etc. But all life depends on meeting these hurdles and getting over them.

This is why acts of prohibition, whether at state, community or family level need to be carefully measured. This is important so that they do not prevent human’s natural curiosity from expressing itself. This tolerance in the long-run leads to better and more developed personalities.

Develop your own truths

For the most part, humans over time develop their own truths. Official state propaganda in autocratic societies usually tries to impose its own narrative. This can work for the time in office of the dictator. If the messages are wildly divergent from the basic values of the society, there will be a greater or lesser reckoning. This is inevitable and happens once the dictator dies or is deposed.

Those dreams that are important to us need to be shielded and those that are not be discarded. The Protectorate wishes to assist this by shielding against lies and untruths. It hopes thereby to make a contribution to each person’s personal values, dreams and personal development.
