ABOUT THE PROTECTORATE
Why is the world so full of pain and pestilence?
Are the causes human, sociological, political, environmental, climatological or something else? How much influence can be brought to bear on their resolution by governments, by motivated individuals, NGOs with better public policies, better education, or revised types of investments?
The Protectorate has been created to address some of these centuries old problems. It aims to improve overall human happiness with a focus on some of the more obvious shortcomings.
There are other ways to effect needed changes. One of the best ways is by unveiling truth; another is by fostering resilience within the human spirit.
Communication is best served if it is based on shared human values, especially if it exposes political and social falsehoods. Its effectiveness will be further increased by the use of satire to weaken claims by false prophets, by inspiring mass scepticism.
