The Role of Satire in Combating Disinformation

While communication between humans is mostly of a factual nature, there exists an extensive realm of alternative methods of communication. These can include outright lies, exaggerations, hyperbole, tones of voice, misleading use of words, etc.

However, one of the most powerful yet underused is that of satire. When it is integrated with venom is also known as invective. This quality can be highly effective in achieving change. This is because its content goes beyond the possibility of a reasoned reply, since it activates a different part of the human brain. It is also highly memorable if done well.

The Protectorate will use this technique to debunk politicians and their policies in a number of ways. This will include  the presentation of a series of short, humorous and satirical videos.
